Preparing and packing for Ring*Con Part 2
I am actually DONE packing! and that's a good since we're leaving today! And it's seems so incredibly unreal, I just can't get it in my head! It slowly dawned upon me yesterday, and I was acting all Alice-ish, meaning squealing, jumping up and down, and stuff like that.
The only things left now are one pair of my shoes, which hopefully mom and/or my sis is searching for now, and a couple of small things I'm buying at the store on my way to the airport.
Right now I'm at work counting the hours (currently 3 h 20 min) until mom comes to get me, and we're leaving for the airport. The plane leaves at 17.25, and it'll take about 2 hr to get To Dusseldorf. My twin/roomie'll pick us up there, and then we'll go to Bonn.
And we're gonna have an epic load of fun! Sadly, I've promised not to kidnap anyone... BUT, I have not promised not to bite anyone ;)

I'm in my "listen to rainy-songs on rainy days mo(o)de"
Okay, today it's raining, which mean it's milder outside then it's been the last week. In fact yesterday when I left for the bus at 07.20, it was -1 C... And it may have been -2 the day before.
Now, I'm not complaining about it being a liiiiitle bit warmer, BUT 'why rain?' Well, it's fall, October 1st to be exact, leaving me 26 days until my birthday. And, if this weather continues, it'll probably be snow on the ground before my birthday. There's already snow in the mountains, and it's sure as hell cold enough here for it to start snowing, be it regular snow or the wet, yucky kind.
So, on rainy days I always find myself listening to song with the word rain, may it be in the title or barely mentioned in the lyrics. The three songs most commonly popping up in my head then, is 'Remember When It Rained' by Josh Groban, 'Wild Child' by Enya and 'Signin' In the Rain' with Gene Kelly, from the 1952 musical with the same name. It's a really great movie to watch, you'll be guaranteed to get in a great mood watching it, and it's perfect for rainy days.
'Singin' In the Rain' and 'Wild Child' are the kinds of songs I listen to when I'm in a good mood, even though it's raining. Like if it's been really warm and dry for a while, or the refreshing cleansing spring rain. The melodies are uplifting, making me feel good.
'Remember When it Rained' on the other hand is a powerful, sad, and calming song. When Josh sings it, you can feel the power and sadness from the song. It's even better to see it live, him playing it on the piano, and seeing, feeling, the emotions. If you're really emotional, this song will probably make you cry. I've cried a few times listening to it myself.
Lyrics for 'Singin' In the Rain'
Don Lockwood:
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo...
I'm singing in the rain
Just singing in the rain
What a glorious feelin'
I'm happy again
I'm laughing at clouds
So dark up above
The sun's in my heart
And I'm ready for love
Let the stormy clouds chase
Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain
I've a smile on my face
I walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Just singin',
Singin' in the rain
Dancin' in the rain
Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah
Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah
I'm happy again!
I'm singin' and dancin' in the rain!
I'm dancin' and singin' in the rain...
Lyrics to 'Wild Child'
Wild Child
Ever close your eyes
ever stop and listen
ever feel alive
and you've nothing missing
you don't need a reason
let the day go on and on
Let the rain fall down
everywhere around you
give into it now
let the day surround you
you don't need a reason
let the rain go on and on
What a day
what a day to take to
what a way
what a way
to make it through
what a day
what a day to take
a wild child
Only take the time
from the helter skelter
every day you find
everything's in kilter
you don't need a reason
let the day go on and on
Every summer sun
every winter evening
every spring to come
every autumn leaving
you don't need a reason
let it all go on and on
What a day
what a day to take to
what a way
what a way
to make it through
what a day
what a day to take to
What a day
what a day to take to
what a way
what a way to make it through
what a day
what a day to take to a wild child
What a day
what a day to take to
what a way
What a way
to make it through
what a day
what a day to take to
Da-da-da-
Da-da-da-da-da-da
Da-da-da
what a way
what a way
to make it through
Da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da
Da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da
what a way
what a way to make it through
what a day
what a day to take to a wild child
what a day
what a day to take to a wild child
Lyrics to 'Remember When it Rained'
Wash away the thoughts inside
That keep my mind away from you
No more love and no more pride
And thoughts are all I have to do
Remember when it rained
I felt the ground and looked up high and called your name
Remember when it rained
In the darkness I remain
Tears of hope run down my skin
Tears for you that will not dry
They magnify the one within
And let the outside slowly die
Remember when it rained
I felt the ground and looked up high and called your name
Remember when it rained
In the water I remain
Running down...
